The 27-year-old school teacher from Reading impressed the panel and the audience with his rendition of “With A Little Help From My Friends” in his first audition, which was broadcast on Saturday night.
Danyl Johnson is already an internet sensation just two days after appearing on “X Factor.” More than a million fans have watched his performance on YouTube and he has received offers to appear in the U.S.
Simon Cowell said his version of the Beatles classic was the “best first audition I’ve ever heard”.
Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue also appeared smitten by the singer. “You are a natural born performer and I will take you in my category right now,” said Cole, while Minogue told him: “There’s a few people that want to go back to school now because of you.”
Johnson is set to become a star in America, where he has been invited to appear on NBC’s “The Today Show.”
